Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education will start from May 4, education minister Nishank Pokhriyal said on Tuesday.
According to the exam schedule released by the minister on Twitter, the last exam for Class 10 students will be on June 7 while the Class 12 exams will end June 11.
The board also said that practical exams for applicable subjects will begin on March 1.
“Please be assured that we have done our best to ensure that these exams go smoothly for you,” Pohriyal tweeted.
The CBSE said it had given "sufficient time" between the examinations of two main subjects in both the classes. "This will reduce the stress of the students and help them in better preparations for the examinations," a statement by the board's controller of examinations, Sanyam Bhardwaj said.

The CBSE said they had compressed the duration of the board examinations in 2021 to 39 days, down from the examination schedule of 45 days in 2020.
